Class Definitions
CUBAN SALSA RUEDA - Intro (Pre-Beginners)
At this level you will learn the elements and fundamentals of "Cuban" style salsa. This course is aimed for the student who has little or no experience in salsa. We start from the very beginning with all the Cuban basics, rhythm & timing. We will then continue with the fundamentals of partnering, basic lead and following techniques, basic turns and how to put it all together.
Throughout this course, your goal is to learn the basic terminology, understand the fundamental basic Cuban salsa steps and be able to lead (if you are the leader) OR be able to follow (if you are the follower). The Cuban basics taught in this fundamental course are absolutely vital as they will follow you through and always be referred to in higher levels. We feel this course is the most important Cuban salsa course of them all.

CUBAN SALSA RUEDA - Beginners
At this level you will learn all the elements and fundamentals of "Cuban" style Salsa Rueda (Danced in a wheel formation). This course is aimed for the student who has basic experience in Cuban salsa. We revisit all the Cuban Salsa basics, rhythm & timing, fundamentals of partner dancing, basic lead and following techniques before creating the "Rueda Wheel" where you will be taught the first three essential Rueda moves!
The Salsa Rueda basics taught in this beginners course are absolutely vital as they will form the basis to all other Rueda moves taught in higher levels.

CUBAN SALSA RUEDA - Improvers
At this level you will revise all the elements and fundamentals of Salsa Rueda and we will build upon these fundamentals. This course is aimed for the student who has basic experience in Salsa Rueda. We revisit the "Rueda Wheel" where you will be taught more complicated but seriously FUN Rueda moves!
The Salsa Rueda moves taught in this Improvers course are also vital building blocks to increasing your knowledge and understanding of Cuban Salsa as they will help you build up your skills to use Cuban Salsa in your social dancing.

BACHATA - Beginners & Improvers
Bachata is a smooth and sexy partner dance originating from the Caribbean region, more specifically, the Dominican Republic with borrowings from the Cuban Bolero. Although Bachata is a classic form of music dating back to the 1960's, it has enjoyed a revival and has taken Latin night clubs by storm all over the World! The music has a distinctive guitar sound and evolved from the guitar-led folk groups of the Cuban son and the bolero. It is romantic and beautiful to listen and dance to.
Today Bachata has undertaken dramatic changes from the very traditional sound of it's creation to where it has merged with more contemporary styles like Jazz, R&B and Hip Hop as well as other Latin and Brazilian rhythms. It's more apparent fusion has been with R&B/Hip Hop, producing many great influential musicians/singers such as Aventura, Toby Love, Optimo & Xtreme to name a few. Bachata is sometimes referred to as the "blues music of the Dominican Republic."
You will be amazed how easy and enjoyable it is to pick up!

ZOUK-LAMBADA - Beginners & Improvers
Zouk-Lambada is a dance style based on or evolved from the lambada dance style. Zouk today is an evolution from Lambada and it is super smooth, romantic, hypnotic with long, fluent, wave-like movements and surprisingly easy to learn! Unlike the fast paced, energetic and explosive LambaZouk.
One of the most amazing things with Zouk is the music! Todays Zouk music is mellow and beautiful, with an irresistible dance beat and a strong bass line. There are many contemporary, modern songs that you hear on the radio that have been re-mixed and put a Zouk beat in them. The music itself will mesmerize you, imagine only what it will do when you actually dance to that music!
Since it's introduction a few years ago, it has quickly won the heart of Latin dancers across Brazil, Europe and exploded into Australia. Now the New Zealand Latin dance scene is getting swept away by Zouk!

PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are suitable for those wanting personal attention to their dancing. This can be a 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 (a couple and 2 instructors). In a private lesson the attention is 100% on you. We can concentrate on your individual needs and attend to details that are not possible in a group class situation.
Every individual have their own special needs when wanting to excel with their dancing, therefore private lessons are a huge benefit and are highly recommended.
